A estética desportiva e o conceito experimental da K L A R fazem com que, de certa forma, seja impossível não se ficar curioso sobre a expressão criativa desta marca de jovens portugueses. As suas roupas são invulgares e inesperadas, as silhuetas são desconstruídas e os corpos ganham novas formas e movimentos. Não se fica indiferente: ou se gosta ou se odeia. Mas o desejo e a tentação por querer experimentar alguma das peças prevalecem. The sporty aesthetic and the experimental concept from K L A R makes impossible not to be curious about the creative expression of this brand from young Portuguese designers. Their clothes are unusual and unexpected, the silhouettes are deconstructed and bodies gain new shapes and movements. It's hard to remain indifferent: either you like it or hate it. But the desire and temptation for wanting to try them on prevails. The turtle-neck tank tops from Winter's 2014 collection are one example of those desire pieces that K L A R created in his experimental period. It's hard to resist them, isn't it?

Estelita Mendonça | Portugal Fashion Fall 2014

O minimalismo e a desconstrução e subsequente construção das peças de vestuário tornam-se na imagem de marca de Estelita Mendonça e para o próximo Outono/Inverno 2014-15 o designer apresenta uma colecção de linhas rectas e volumes exacerbados. 

Desta vez associado ao conceito de packaging e à ideia do preenchimento das formas, os traços ganham novas perspectivas criando diferentes silhuetas. A ideia de embalagem faz da roupa uma espécie de invólucro que envolve o homem e o protege, ou não, na busca constante para se encaixar na sociedade. A utilização dos tecidos tecnológicos e do plástico moldado cria texturas inesperadas e destacam-se pormenores da sua utilização nas golas e nos punhos com acessórios produzidos pela Tåka·Mau. Até mesmo os bolsos, que pela sua natureza de “embalagem” inata da roupa, ganham outra vida, como se se desmistificasse o seu sentido de existir costurando-os no exterior das peças.

Minimalism and desconstruction and subsequent construction of the garments are becoming the trademark image of Estelita Mendonça and for the next fall/winter 2014-15 the designer presented his collection of straight lines and exagerated volumes.

This time associated to the concept of packaging and with the idea of filling the forms, traces gains new perspectives creating different silhouettes. The idea of packing makes the clothes a kind of pack that involves the man and protects him, or not, in the constant search to fit the society. The use of technological fabrics and the molded plastic creates unexpected textures and it's highlighted by details of acessories used in fists and necks made by Tåka·Mau. Even the pockets, that for its innate nature of being a packing of clothes, gains another life, as if it was demystified its sense of existence by sewing them in the exterior.

Hugo Costa | Portugal Fashion Fall 2014

"Bushido", o código de conduta e modo de vida dos Samurai, é o nome da colecção de Hugo Costa para o Inverno de 2014. O designer utilizou as leis que regiam o modo de vida destes guerreiros nipónicos e transformou-o em peças de vestuário. No entanto, as vestes dos Samurais aqui são diferentes, nada de armaduras, máscaras e armas, e se se quiser atribuir a estas categorias um item pode-se talvez dizer que o que há de armadura são os kimonos, os casacos e as maxi-sweaters; como  máscara a alusão ao homem citadino combatente dos meios urbanos; e por armas, as mochilas, não sendo bem uma arma mas um saco para guardá-la.

As roupas jogam com as proporções, camadas e a ideia do confortável, conferindo ao homem urbano a facilidade de se movimentar na sua natureza, predominando os tons de azul, preto e laranja. A mochila de pele, que já é um acessório ícone de Hugo Costa, aqui sofreu um pequeno twist mantendo as linhas práticas e minimalistas. Vejam alguns dos looks da colecção.

"Bushido", the the behavior code and way of life of Samurais, is the name of Hugo Costa's collection for Winter 2014. The designer used the laws that governed the way of life of these Nipponese warriors and turned it into garments. However, the robes of the Samurai here are different, no armor, masks and weapons, and if you want to assign an item to these categories, maybe you can say that as armor are the kimonos, coats and maxi-sweaters; mask as the allusion to the city man, fighter of urban environments; and by weapons the backpacks, not being much of a weapon but a bag to save it. 

The clothes play with proportions, layers and the idea of ​​comfortable, giving the urban man the ease of moving in it's nature, with predominant shades of blue, black and orange. The skin bag that has become an icon acessory of Hugo Costa, here had a slight twist keeping the practical and minimalist lines. Here are some looks of the collection.

Daniela Barros | Portugal Fashion Fall 2014

Daniela Barros criou as mulheres guerreiras numa colecção intitulada de "Dalka". Uma mulher de carácter forte que ao mesmo tempo é escura e romântica. O casaco é a peça central, apresentado em tons de camel, branco e preto com pormenores, como o do casaco branco de corte assimétrico, que fazem lembrar braços dilacerados, um misto de suavidade e violência mostrados ao longo de toda a colecção. 

Mas a Daniela foi mais além e com as figuras geométricas que já fazem parte do seu ADN, junto com as assimetrias, criou novas formas para o corpo feminino originando uma fluidez entre silhueta, rigidez e conforto. Uma tríade que à partida parece não conjugar, mas engana-se se pensar isto, porque os materiais tecnológicos, naturais, fibras e sedas utilizados não conferem outra coisa. Os pormenores estendem-se por camisolas de gola alta, em que a gola se compõe com um fecho, as desconstruções das peças e os vestidos amarrotados. Vejam as imagens e o vídeo do final do desfile.

Daniela Barros created the warrior women her new collection titled "Dalka". A woman of strong character who is at once dark and romantic. The jacket is the centerpiece, displayed in shades of camel, black and white with details such as the white coat with an asymmetrical cut, that reminds lacerated arms, a mixture of softness and violence seen throughout the collection.

But Daniela went further and geometries that are already part of her DNA, along with the asymmetries she created new ways for the female body giving a fluidity between silhouette, stiffness and comfort. A triad that seems not to combine, but it is misleading to think that, because the natural and technological materials, fibers and silks used just confirm that fluidity. The details extend for turtleneck sweaters, where the collar has a zipper, the deconstruction of some pieces and crumpled dresses. Check out the images and the video of the show's finale.
