Rosa Pulchra: Nair Xavier | ModaLisboa Vision Fall 2014

É portuguesa de gema, descendente angolana e no coração tem a moda: chama-se Nair Xavier e a sua primeira colecção foi apresentada na última edição da ModaLisboa na plataforma Sangue Novo. Numa pequena entrevista feita à designer foi possível conhecer o seu percurso até à apresentação da sua colecção intitulada "Bergie Seltzer".

Nair inicia-se no mundo da moda na Magestil a estudar estilismo industrial e aqui começa a desenvolver as habilidades técnicas da profissão. Acaba o curso profissional e durante duas temporadas estagia com os White Tent onde trabalha e aplica a técnicas apreendidas. " Por influência do trabalho com eles fui estudar para Londres, no London College of Fashion, onde fiz a licenciatura em Fashion Design Technology com a especialidade em Menswear.", conta a Nair.

Bergie Seltzer

Bergie Seltzer é o nome que se dá ao som do gelo quando derrete e produz um som efervescente.

Esta colecção é inspirada na forma anatómica dos pinguins, nos icebergs e nas plataformas de gelo e com apenas sete looks foi um desafio para a designer criar e conjugar as peças de forma a conseguir uma colecção coerente. "É um desafio por a colecção ser tão pequena, decidir quais as peças certas e que melhor se vão coordenar umas com as outras.", disse Nair. Claro que mesmo sendo uma colecção pequena existe sempre a necessidade de precisão e de método e como os orçamentos para designers em inicia de carreira nem sempre são os mais elevados, a Nair recebe os louros por ter concebido e produzido todas as peças.

Para o futuro "é levar a minha marca e o meu trabalho para a frente. Torná-la independente e sustentável, divulgá-la e fazê-la crescer." concluiu a Nair. Por aqui ficamos à espera da próxima colecção.

Bergie Seltzer

Bergie Seltzer is the name given to the fizzing souund mad by the ice when it melts.

This collection is inspired by the anatomical shape of penguins, icebergs and the ice shelves and with just seven looks was a challenge for the designer to create and combine parts in order to achieve a coherent collection. "It's a challenge because the collection is so small, decide which ones are the right pieces that will better coordinate with each other." said Nair. Of course, that even with a small collection there is always the need for precision and method and the budgets for designers in the beginning of a career are not always the highest, so Nair gets the credits for having designed and produced all the pieces .

For the future "is to take my brand and my work forward. Making it independent and sustainable, publicize it and make it grow." concluded Nair. Here we will be waiting for the next collection.
